The general flow is always the same:ġ) There is a change since installing (insert this year's operating system version here).Ģ) Ergo, there must be a bug in (version).īut at this point, it's a dead end. To be clear the internal SSD reads/writes at around the expected 4,000-5,000 MB/s. Once again, none of us noticed this issue before updating to Ventura. As have many others reporting this problem in threads linked in my original post. Although this is also totally irrelevant, as I have the same issue transferring data with every hard drive I have tested, and even SD cards plugged straight into the Mac Studio. One drive is a Samsung T7 SSD, capable of 1,000MB/s sequential read/write speeds, the other is a Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD SATA drive. So there's something seriously wrong with the way Ventura is communicating with the T7 controller. However that would make a 300GB transfer 50 minutes, not 48 hours. All three that I own consistently tested sub 100MB/s write speeds. UPDATE: I've actually discovered it's only the Samsung T7 drives that have snail-pace read/write speeds. Besides, formatting the drive is absolutely out of the question because I need the data on them. But others in the threads linked in my original post have reported issues with NTFS as well. That's because I'm not really trying to get the issue solved here, as no other thread has been resolved despite offering more information, nor do any of the suggestions resolve my issue.īoth are exFAT drives connected via the front USB-C (USB 3.2/10Gbps) ports of my M1 Max Mac Studio using tested, high-bitrate cables. ![]()
